Jennifer, that is typical of the price-range for placing newborns. At least from what I have seen.

Hi,

We're Greg and Carl from NJ. We completed our home study and are now looking for a birth mother. Our website and info are on our home page. Good luck to everyone.

Alex,

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it.

The 3 agencies that told me up front that I do not qualify for their program are all Christian based, including LDS Services, and a couple others. Being that I am a Christian, I started looking there. However, I am not about to give up. I know that I have a lot of love and a great life to share and will find the right situation for me.

Thanks Again for the encouragement!

Leslie- I'll send you some agencies to check into. We also have the AdoptMatch.org system, although it hasn't reached CO yet. There agencies let us know who they take AND people who have used the agency let us know if it's true.

Leslie & Hakimah-
Only some foreign countries deny access to single parents. In the US some agencies will discourage singles from adopting, or may choose to not work with singles, but most should.

Leslie-
Agencies do inquire about financial matters to make sure that you can afford being a parent. And in the case of adoption from foster care, they want to make sure that you are not adopting as a way to secure an income (from the subsidies).

Just starting the process of seeking an agency for an infant adoption. My main stumbling block is.....I am single! I know that I am a good person and would make a good parent. Any hints on finding an agency that is ok with single parents? I have been turned down 3 times already simply because of my marital status. I live in Colorado if that makes any difference.
